Membership
Club membership with CIDA is affordable, flexible, and of great benefit! With three tiers of membership, there’s something for every club out there. CIDA is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organisation; all fees paid go right back into the promotion and growth of collegiate Irish dance. CIDA’s main operating expense is the running of the Collegiate National Irish Dance Championships, which all member clubs have the opportunity to attend.
Membership requirements
In order to register as a CIDA member team, the group must:
Be an officially recognised student club/group/organisation by the Student Activities/Campus Life department of the host college/university
The team must exist independently of an academic department or larger dance club/organisation on campus. For example, Irish dancers as part of a “University of X Dance Team” would not qualify.
Be in good standing with the host college/university
Be open to only people eligible to participate in student activities at the host college/university
Have a student-lead leadership structure with official positions such as President, Treasurer, etc.
Coaches or outside support such as TCRGs, choreographers, etc., are optional, and must always comply with CLRG/IDTANA rules and directives.
If you are unsure if your club/group would qualify, feel free to contact us with information about your club structure, and we can give you an answer. Our goal is to apply these membership requirements as evenly and fairly as possible.
